Hi there, I’m Yujin Huang (黄与进 in Chinese), a PhD student in School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Pennsylvania State University (PSU). I’m a member of CSL and my advisor is Professor Timothy Zhu. Before joining PSU, I got my Bachelor’s degree in University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2024.

Currently, my research is focused on two topics: 1) studying the aging process and the impact of SSD, aiming at quantifying the age of SSD accurately with multiple metrics. 2) enhancing sustainability of hardware devices (such as SSDs) in computer systems with tricks such as reusing old devices and modifying replication/RAID/EC schemes. 3) finding performance issues in computer systems. From March 2023 to April 2024, I worked as a research intern advised by Professor Chang Lou and Professor Ryan Huang. At that time, I helped with generating semantic checkers for distributed systems.
